Tiller Terms of Use
By using Tiller you agree to these terms. Tiller is a lawn-care coaching tool operated by Zim Apps LLC (“Tiller”, “we”, “us”) that helps you make better decisions about your lawn. Please read the disclaimers below — they matter.
Guidance, not professional advice
Tiller provides informational guidance only. It is not professional agronomic, horticultural, chemical, legal, or environmental advice. Tiller’s recommendations are a helpful second opinion, not a substitute for a licensed professional when one is warranted.
The label is the law
Always read and follow the manufacturer’s product label for any fertilizer, herbicide, fungicide, pesticide, or other product. The product label is the legally binding instruction for application rates, timing, safety equipment, restrictions, and local regulations. If Tiller and a product label ever disagree, follow the label. You are responsible for applying products lawfully and safely.
No guaranteed outcomes
Lawns depend on weather, soil, grass type, and many factors outside anyone’s control. Tiller does not guarantee any particular result, improvement, or outcome. Recommendations are based on models and the information you provide, both of which carry uncertainty.
Weather and model uncertainty
Weather forecasts and agronomic models are estimates and can be wrong. Treat timing guidance as a best estimate, not a certainty, and use your own judgment for current on-the-ground conditions.
AI / automated recommendations
Some recommendations are generated by automated and AI systems. They can be incomplete or incorrect. Use common sense, verify against product labels, and consult a professional for high-stakes decisions (e.g. chemical applications near people, pets, water, or property lines).
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about your lawn.
- Follow all product labels and local laws.
- Use appropriate safety precautions when handling lawn products.
- Keep your account credentials secure.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tiller is provided “as is” without warranties, and we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, your lawn outcomes, or your use of any product. You assume responsibility for decisions you make and actions you take.
Tiller Plus subscriptions
What is free, permanently
Tiller does not charge for safety. Guidance that prevents lawn damage, product misuse, or timing mistakes is always free, and always will be: your next recommended action, all safety warnings and holds, every rate, dose, and area calculation, soil-test interpretation, overwatering and drought corrections, activity logging, your full history, and your ability to export or delete your data. We will never place a safety recommendation behind a paywall.
What Tiller Plus adds
Tiller Plus is a paid subscription covering planning and intelligence rather than safety: your seasonal plan, renovation planning, and your progress yearbook. Additional Plus features may be added over time.
Price, billing, and automatic renewal
Tiller Plus is offered at $79.00 per year or $8.99 per month, in U.S. dollars. Prices are shown before you pay, and you confirm the price and billing period at checkout.
Your subscription renews automatically. At the end of each billing period we charge your saved payment method for another period at the then-current price, and we keep doing so until you cancel. Renewal is how subscriptions work, and we want you to know it before you buy, not after.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, for any reason, from Settings → Manage subscription. Cancellation is immediate and takes no phone call, email, or explanation. When you cancel:
- You keep Tiller Plus until the end of the period you already paid for.
- You are not charged again.
- Your lawn data, history, and photos remain yours and remain accessible on the free tier.
If you subscribed through Apple’s App Store rather than through this website, Apple manages that subscription — cancel it in your device’s App Store settings, not here.
Refunds
If you are not satisfied with an annual subscription, email support@tillerlawn.com within 30 days of the charge and we will refund it in full. Monthly subscriptions are not refunded for partial months; cancel instead and you will not be billed again. Subscriptions purchased through Apple are refunded by Apple under Apple’s policy, not by us.
Founder pricing
A limited number of early subscribers may purchase Tiller Plus at a discounted founder rate of $49.00 per year. That rate will not increase for as long as your subscription remains continuously active. If you cancel and later resubscribe, the founder rate may no longer be available. The number of founder subscriptions is limited and, once they are gone, the offer ends.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices. If we do, the new price applies to your next renewal, never to a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you by email before it takes effect so you can cancel first if you would rather not continue.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, we will retry it over several days and email you. We do not cut off your Plus features over a single failed charge. If payment ultimately cannot be collected, the subscription ends and your account returns to the free tier — with all of your data intact.
Taxes
Prices may not include sales tax. Where we are required to collect it, applicable tax is calculated and shown at checkout and added to your total.
Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe’s handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe’s privacy policy.
Account termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or misuse the service. On deletion, your data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
